EXTENDING LIFE TOURISM

Our long experience and humanly work with older people (work in a hospital with patients, as well as users in the first private homes in Zagreb opened in 1998.) has resulted in the purchase of pension '' Zvonimirov dom'' Hunjka, on Sljeme.

Besides the rich restaurant offer, we have specially intended part of our pension just to our elderly citizens, pensioners, people of third age. This was the culmination of our will for people tolive in homes not to die there, but to live in a family environment (hotel accommodation), in a boarding house for the extension of life.

Our pension is located on Medvednica (Zagreb mount) at an altitude of 877 meters. The people can enjoy in Mountain climate, fresh air, the smell of flowers and trees, clean spring water, the proximity of the thermal waters (nearby "Stubicke toplice" spa), a life without stress and metropolitan crowd. Hunjka is an ideal place for the development of health tourism oriented towards third age persons, which need that the most.

In Zagreb lives a large number of pensioners, who often suffer from rheumatic diseases and diseases of respiratory disturbances. They live in the city in fog, smog, unclean air. These are the future users of our services in want of sunshine, clean air, healthy spring clean and clear mountain water, peace and tranquility, and for us to extend you an active part of life. Instead spending several days in Sljeme as the standard tourists they can spend more months or years in the much more favorable health conditions.

Just a few European capitals are in it's immediate vicinity of a nature park, like we have here, in Croatia. Above the city rises a mountain Medvednica, whose southern slopes spread to the center of Zagreb. With its natural resources, except the great ecological importance, it is a great forest, mountain and recreational area, and as such attracts the attention of the 1.5 million population of Zagreb, Zagreb and Krapina-Zagorje County and beyond, and is particularly interesting for lover of hiking and nature. Hunjka offers just that, the form of medical (climate) tourism in which a beneficial effect of mountain climate, clean air, natural environment and many more activities (like swimming and therapy in the thermal waters that are near to, or more accurately, "Stubicke toplice" spa), which themselves the object containing the offer provides perfect conditions for the accommodation of third age persons.

A full room in the fresh air is very beneficial effect on the system for the movement, heart, cardiovascular and respiratory system, and therefore last longer stay in these climatic conditions is very beneficial effect on the overall physical and mental health. The medicine can differ according to the type used natural healing factors, three modes of treatment and one of them is clime therapy. Clime therapy apply principles and climatic factors, characteristic for an area, which have a favorable physico-chemical, biological and psychological impact on the human body. Mountain air (800-1800m) is one of the forms of clime therapy.

It is the best starting point for excursions and hiking to the forests ''Kulmerica'', College of good pastures ("Fakultetsko dobro"), ''Markov Travnik'' to ''Horvatove'' 500 steps which is called the most beautiful excursion object on mountain Medvednica arranged and constructed by a human hand. It is located northwest of ''Hunjka'', in the valley of the resort ''Jarek''.
